i will keep an eye out for a good used 26'' tube for you,
Thanks for keeping an eye out for me Gary. Does Jomac also supply tubes and how easy would it be to get one?

As a side note, I actually have a Loewe TV here in excellent condition. It's hardly been used and I was thinking of using it but the tube is 72cm and just way to large. I'd have to start mangling the cab to get it in and want to avoid that.

i have a couple of 26'' tubes come to think of it,i would need to fire them up and see what condition they are in,if i have a good one you are welcome to it,let me see what i have and get back to you,
freight on a tube alone from interstate would be pricey if it arrived in one piece,
another option could be a domestic telly tube and a universal chassis,

will be in touch next week as to what i have.

It would have been a good idea to mention in your first post that Gary had tried to rejuvenate it ,he isn't going to tell you the tube is dead for no reason.

The Original Tube being a Video Color with that model Glendale is about 18 years old and were never to special , it's not uncommon at all for them to drop a color as Gary has identified .
It is a 59cm Tube , the part number on the tube will start with A59...... , we call that a 25" tube but it's actually only a 23" . , you need to find a 59cm TV , I have a few but would cost around $200 to freight over to SA.
A 63cm 26" tube wont fit , a 72cm is probably wider than the outside of the cabinet .

Thank you for the info. I didn't realize that Gary had tried rejuvenating it three times prior to this thread, he might have mentioned it and I might have forgotten. He did mention though it had pretty much had it.
As I understand it, if I were to rip a 59cm tube out of a TV then I would need to use a universal chassis. Would there be any instances where I could use the Glendale or am I better off getting another chassis from you?

Glendale monitors were actually stripped down TV's modified for use in video walls , there are some TV tubes they do work on but the yoke on the donor tube needs to be identical , preferably another Video Color which were used in some of the mid 80's TV's .
If you want to PM or email me when you find a TV I'll see if it's worth trying the Glendale chassis first , although keep in mind it is 18 years old and were never a very good chassis even when new.

That depends if it's really what we refer to here in Australia as 25" or US 25"

      Your machine needs a 59cm 25" , not a US 63cm which we refer to as 26"

Actual size of 59cm is 23" , actual size of 63cm is 25" there is a huge physical difference , they are not interchangeable , so if your machine was made for a 59cm you wont be able to fit a 63cm in there.

Now consider Wells Gardner haven't made a 63cm monitor for 15 years , and the last 59cm was around 9 years ago to say it is near new is a slight exaggeration , both were awful monitors , the 63cm version U5000 was removed from the market due it being a fire harzard and virtually no WG 59cm monitors ever come to Australia.

A TV tube and new chassis would be 10 times better than any WG by far.

Don't go with an LCD - you'll surely regret it.

Buy one of Jomac's universal chassis and find an old tv from somewhere.

I had a good hard rubbish season this year and found a "drop in" 68cm replacement monitor for my cab - just needed a Jomac chassis. Incredible difference - you would not believe how good the image gets, genuinely better than brand new in the day. Apparently TV tubes are all "Grade A" and arcade tubes are mostly "Grade B", so even the cheapest, nastiest late '80s TV will give a better picture than the *best* arcade monitor.

If you want to fix/improve your monitor once and for ever, I can highly recommend a Jomac chassis with a Samsung tube. (Samsung tube found inside an AKAI branded TV)

Ring around some TV repair shops and see what you can find...
